Introduction to physical kinetics, transport theory, and disordered systemsAlex Tsyplyatyev, WS 2021/2022Lectures: 2 hours per week on Tuesdays at 10:15-12:00Room: Phys 1.114 First lecture: 19.10.2021 Last lecture: 15.02.2022 (15 weeks of lectures in total, 3 weeks of Christmas vacation 18.12.2021 - 07.01.2022) Tutorials: 2 hours every second week on Tuesdays at 14:15-16:00 Room: Phys 1.114 Tutorial manager: Mr. Max Hansen/Mr. Dmytro Tarasevych Tutor: Mr. Max Hansen/Mr. Dmytro Tarasevych First tutorial: 9.11.2021 (6 weeks of tutorials in total, dates are 9.11, 23.11, 7.12, 11.01, 25.01, 8.02) This course is an introduction to the kinetics of physical systems, with many applications to electrons in a disordered potential, and transport theory of metals/semiconductors, including scattering by phonons and magnetic impurities as well as thermoelectricity, spintronics, and classical Hall effect. This lecture extends the standard material of the undergraduate courses on the classical and a bit on quantum mechanics towards research in the theoretical solid-state physics. AnnouncementsThe lecture course and tutorials will be conducted in person, in accord with the current university policy. In case this policy changes during the semester, a change to organisation of this course will have to be made on a short notice - check the webpage regularly. The tutorial classes start on Tuesday the 9th of November. Lecture notesComplete lecture notesProblem sheets
