Introduction to physical kinetics, transport theory, and disordered systems

Alex Tsyplyatyev, WS 2019/2020

Lectures: 2 hours per week on Mondays at 14:00
Room: Phys 02.120
First week: 14.10.2019
Last week: 10.02.2020 (15 weeks of lectures in total, 3 weeks of Christmas vacation 23.12.2019 - 10.01.2020)

This course is an introduction to the kinetics of physical systems, with many applications to electrons in a disordered potential, and transport theory of metals/semiconductors, including scattering by phonons and magnetic impurities as well as thermoelectricity, spintronics, and classical Hall effect. This lecture extends the standard material of the undergraduate courses on the classical and a bit on quantum mechanics towards research in the theoretical solid-state physics.
