Hadronic Resonances in Heavy Ion Collisions at the ALICE experiment

Christina Markert (University of Texas at Austin)

Short lived hadronic resonances are sensitive to the properties of the medium created in heavy-ion collisions, in particular to the temperature, density and expansion velocity. I will discuss the re-scattering and regeneration in a hadronic evolution stage and its relation to the lifetime of the hadronic phase and its system size dependence. I will present the results from the ALICE experiment from pp and Pb-Pb collisions and compare it to measurements from RHIC energies.
