ALICE upgrades and prospects for LHC run 3

Jochen Klein (INFN and University Turin)

A Large Ion Collider Experiment (ALICE) at the LHC is undergoing significant upgrades during the Long Shutdown 2. We will report on the knowledge on high-density QCD focussing on results obtained with ALICE so far, then we will discuss the prospects of addressing open questions during Run 3 as well as the detector upgrades to allow us to perform the required measurements.
