On August 17th, we have observed the first multi-messenger signal from two merging neutron stars. This signal carried a plethora of information about the underlying equation of state of nuclear matter. We will demonstrate how this observation has allowed us in Frankfurt to constrain macroscopic properties of neutron stars and hence to set limits on the equation of state. We will also give a detailed overview of the bounds obtained by other groups. Combining all these results we will highlight how tightly the equation of state and the properties of neutron stars can already be constrained by a single event.
