CAS deals with systems wich adapt to their environment, like the ecosystem of the earth, or to the information-flow, like the human brain. For further informations please take a look a my lecture course on the subject.
The focus of the research will be on the modelling of higher brain functions and associative thought processes (artificial thinking) by associative networks (neural networks). The key idea behind this novel approach is that logical reasoning of humans can be decomposed into a basic dynamics, the associative thought processes together with the activation of the working and of the episodic memory.
For further informations please pass by at my office or consult an overview [pdf, ps] and the talk `Self-sustained thought processes in a dense associative network'.
A solid background in theoretical physics and/or cognitive science is expected together with experiences in computer simulations, preferable with C++.
