The current Ubuntu release 10.04 has problems announcing printers through Bonjour (avahid). That means Apple computers will not automatically find printers in the network. This issue will be fixed in the next cups release (1.5). In the meantime we have the option to enable cups browsing on the Mac.

The current Ubuntu release 10.04 has problems announcing printers through Bonjour (avahid). That means Apple computers will not automatically find printers in the network. This issue will be fixed in the next CUPS release (1.5). In the meantime we have the option to enable cups browsing on the Mac.

Open a web browser on the Mac and point to: [1]

Enable the protocol 'cups' as show in the image below:

After committing with "Apply changes" and authenticating with your administrator login, you will directly have access to all our printers. This is the same behavior like in Linux.
