Heavy-Ion Physics at RHIC

Selected results on heavy ion collisions from the STAR and PHENIX experiments at  the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider at the Brookhaven Laboratory will be discussed and compared to Large Hadron Collider experimental results and to models and a view into future plans will be given.
