I'll
present recent studies utilizing mean field approximations of the
extended linear $\sigma$ model for the cases of three and four quark
flavors at finite temperatures, baryon chemical potentials and
magnetic/electric field strengths. This model includes (pseudo)scalar
and (axial)vector degrees of freedom and assumes a global chiral
symmetry. Most of the parameters of the model have been well determined
by fitting to experiments and to recent lattice QCD simulations. With
the Polyakov-loop potentials, the model combines with the deconfinement
phase transition, as well. The dynamics of color charges was integrated
as a new type of interaction. Four topics shall be presented, namely,
viscosity, conductivity and phenomenology of fluctuations and
correlations in QCD matter besides the phase structure of the model. The
results shall be confronted to available measurements and lattice
calculations.
