The
Discovery of the Higgs boson - The role of theory
Robert
Harlander (Universität Wuppertal)
The
discovery of a Higgs-like particle at the LHC is a milestone
of modern elementary particle physics. The excitement about this
remarkable
achievement sometimes obscures the fact that it rests on a close
interplay
between experiment and theory. This talk puts the emphasis on
the
theoretical efforts related to the search, exclusion, discovery
and
measurement of the Higgs boson.
