Mode-by-mode
fluid dynamics for relativistic heavy ion collisions
Stefan
Floerchinger (CERN)
Initial
fluctuations in hydrodynamic fields such as energy density, flow
velocity or shear stress provide an interesting chance to better
understand initial state and equilibration physics as well as
thermodynamic and transport properties.
We use a mode resolved
description with a background-fluctuation splitting and a Bessel-Fourier
expansion for the fluctuating fields for a complete characterization of
initial conditions, the fluid dynamical propagation of single modes, the
study of interaction effects between modes, the determination of the
associated particle spectra and the generalization of the whole program
to event-by-event correlations and probability distributions.
