The gravitational field at the shortest scales
Piero Nicolini (FIAS/Goethe University Frankfurt)
After a pedagogical review of some issues
related to the gravitational field, we will present some
of the latest ideas about how general relativity can be
improved in the extreme energy/small scale regime.
Specifically we will address the repercussions of modified
gravity theories on the physics of black holes in order to
overcome usual inadequacies of the classical formalism.
As a second point we will address the problem of the
observation of the predicted non-classical effects.
