Testing the trade-off between information and disturbance in sequential quantum measurements.

Simone Felicetti

The extraction of information from a quantum system unavoidably implies a modiļ¬cation of the measured system itself. Partial measurements can be carried out in order to extract only a portion of the information encoded in a quantum system, at cost of a limited amount of disturbance induced. We experimentally analyzed the dynamic of sequential partial measurements performed on quantum optical systems, focusing on the trade-off between the maximal information extractable and the disturbance.
